Easter Egg Hunt Activities for Kids in the South

9:00 AM

Every year, kids look forward to join Easter Egg Hunt at the end of the Lenten Season. But why do we celebrate this? Why eggs and not just gift boxes? They say, "Easter eggs are said to represent Jesus’ emergence from the tomb and resurrection. Decorating eggs for Easter is a tradition that dates back to at least the 13th century. One explanation for this custom is that eggs were formerly a forbidden food during the Lenten season, so people would paint and decorate them to mark the end of the period of penance and fasting, then eat them on Easter as a celebration. An egg hunt involves hiding eggs outside for children to run around and find on Easter morning. Eggs are rolled as a symbolic re-enactment of the rolling away of the stone from Jesus' tomb."

Places like malls, hotels, restaurants, parks, etc., prepare and offer Easter Egg Hunt for kids during this season. Different exciting ideas are being offered to encourage the children to join them and have some fun. If you are looking for one in the South, here are some that you can choose from to visit this Sunday, April 16, 2017.
